Brass angles are metal brackets typically made of brass that are used to reinforce or connect two materials at a 90-degree angle. They can be found in different sizes, thicknesses and lengths depending on the specific application.

Where are brass angles used?

One of the most common applications for brass angles is in construction. They can be used to reinforce corners in buildings, walls, and floors. This helps to increase the integrity of a structure and ensure it remains stable over time.

Another common application for brass angles is in framing. They can be used to connect and reinforce frames for doors, windows, and other structures. This helps to ensure that the frames remain stable and secure, even under heavy loads or extreme conditions.

In cabinetry and furniture making, brass angles can be used to reinforce and connect the corners of cabinets and other furniture. This helps to increase the strength and durability of the furniture, ensuring that it will last for many years.

Brass angles can also be used as a decorative element in architectural designs and interiors. They can be polished or finished in a variety of ways to enhance the overall aesthetic of a space.

The smaller sizes such as 1/4″ x 1/4″ , 3/8″ x 3/8″ , 1/2″ x 1/2″ & 3/4″ x 3/4″ are often used as decorative Brass Angle Trims for applications such as display systems, point of sale areas, and in the manufacture of furniture and other bespoke joinery applications.

A Choice of 3 Finishes

To enhance the look of these decorative items we also stock the Brass L Shape Angles in a choice of 3 finishes.

  • Mill Finish Brass Angles are supplied as they come from the manufacturer, with no additional finishing processes. They usually have a bright semi-shiny finish, but the quality of the finish can vary from batch to batch.
  • Brush-Polished Brass Angle Trims are polished on the outer faces using an abrasive wheel that gives a uniform grained, brushed effect on the surface of the brass. It’s an excellent choice if you need a finished item that is free of surface marks or scratches but don’t want the glare and reflection of a Bright or Mirror Polish.
  • Mirror Polished Brass Angles go through an extensive polishing process that results in a bright, mirror-like finish. With the addition of a cutting compound and plenty of buffing, a perfectly smooth, highly polished, and reflective surface is achieved. The quality of the polish can be measured using the Roughness Average Index, where a mirror polish will measure 0.2 RA or less.

Why Quality Matters

Quality matters in the use of brass angles because it affects the performance, durability, and safety of the final product. High-quality brass angles are made to precise specifications and tolerances, which ensures that they will perform as intended in their intended application. Better quality materials are also more resistant to corrosion, wear, and tear.
